Fionia stool is a modern, Nordic interpretation of the ancient X-chair. The lightweight and folding stool has a simple, triangular construction with a stable surface often used as a bedside table or elegant stand for books, pots and flowers. Designed in 1986, the Fionia stool has become a long-standing favorite piece thanks to its versatility and simple beauty that can lift practically any room. The Large 52x36 Fionia Tray (sold separately) fits seamlessly on top to create the perfect side or lounge table.
Fionia was designed by Jens Quistgaard (1919–2008), a Danish designer whose works became synonymous with Scandinavian Modern. He apprenticed under Georg Jensen and developed from being a draughtsman and relief-maker to a sculptural designer. His designs were exhibited at trade fairs and homes around the world.
